On 09.10.2026 the Austrian Federal Competition Authority was notified of the following merger:
Planned purchase process
Arabella BidCo GmbH intends to acquire sole control of BayWa r.e. AG as part of a restructuring. Arabella BidCo GmbH is indirectly controlled by a restructuring shareholder. BayWa r.e. AG is a global renewable energy company. Its business activities include the development, planning, financing, construction, commissioning and operation of wind, solar and other facilities for the generation, storage and use of energy from renewable sources, as well as related services, the distribution of solar and photovoltaic components and the direct marketing of electricity.

Deadline for bringing in an application pursuant to § 11(1) Cartel Act will end on 06.11.2026.
Entrepreneurs whose legal or economic interests are affected by the merger can bring in a written statement at the Federal Competition Authority or the Federal Cartel Prosecutor within 14 days from publication date.
Note: The intervening party has no right to a certain treatment of the statement and will not gain a party position.
