On 18.12.2025 the Austrian Federal Competition Authority was notified of the following merger:
Planned purchase process
OEP Montan BidCo GmbH, Germany, intends to acquire all shares in Montanhydraulik Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung, Germany, and Montan-Hydraulik Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung und Co. KG, Germany. Montanhydraulik group is a global specialist in the design, engineering, manufacture, and servicing of high-quality hydraulic cylinders, related aggregates, and systems, including comprehensive Aftermarket services for own and third-party cylinders. OEP Montan BidCo GmbH is an acquisition vehicle of the OEP IX funds, OEP is a private equity firm.
Business Sector concerned: Manufacture of fluid power equipment.
C - MANUFACTURING C 28 - Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c., C 28.1 - Manufacture of general-purpose machinery, C 28.12 - Manufacture of fluid power equipment
Deadline for bringing in an application pursuant to § 11(1) Cartel Act will end on 15.01.2026.
Entrepreneurs whose legal or economic interests are affected by the merger can bring in a written statement at the Federal Competition Authority or the Federal Cartel Prosecutor within 14 days from publication date.
Note: The intervening party has no right to a certain treatment of the statement and will not gain a party position.
Non-prohibition of the merger
The Federal Competition Authority and the Federal Cartel Prosecutor have not applied for examination of the merger by the Cartel Court. The standstill obligation (§ 17 (1) Cartel Act) ends with effect from 16.01.2026 .
