On 13.06.2025 the Austrian Federal Competition Authority was notified of the following merger:
Planned purchase process
Bajaj Auto International Holdings B.V., Achterbroek 11, Unit 8, 6596MP Milsbeek, The Netherlands, intends to acquire 26,1% of the shares in Pierer Bajaj AG, FN 532159m, Edisonstraße 1, 4600 Wels, from Pierer Industrie AG, FN 290677 t, Edisonstraße 1, 4600 Wels, so that after the merger, it will hold 76% of the shares.
Affected business sector: Manufacture of motorcycles.
C - MANUFACTURING C 30 - Manufacture of other transport equipment, C 30.9 - Manufacture of transport equipment n.e.c., C 30.91 - Manufacture of motorcycles
Deadline for bringing in an application pursuant to § 11(1) Cartel Act will end on 11.07.2025.
Entrepreneurs whose legal or economic interests are affected by the merger can bring in a written statement at the Federal Competition Authority or the Federal Cartel Prosecutor within 14 days from publication date.
Note: The intervening party has no right to a certain treatment of the statement and will not gain a party position.
Non-prohibition of the merger
The Federal Competition Authority and the Federal Cartel Prosecutor have waived their right to apply for examination of the merger by the Cartel Court before the deadline. The standstill obligation (§ 17(1) Cartel Act) ends with effect from 07.07.2025 .
