GKB intended to increase its participation in LTE by 50%. The owner of the GKB and the ÖBB is the BMVIT (Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology).
BWB ensured competition with the following remedies:
- coordination with ÖBB will not take place and
- participation in LTE by GKB is temporally limited.
Because of these remedies independency of LTE in rail freight could be safed.
