EnergieDirect Austria GmbH has voluntarily committed to the Fairness Catalogue for electricity and gas suppliers developed by the Austrian Federal Competition Authority and E-Control. By supporting its principles of fairness, the company underscores its responsibility and commitment to greater competition and to safeguarding the interests of consumers in the retail electricity and gas markets. The Austrian Federal Competition Authority welcomes this commitment as an important signal for fairness, transparency and trust in the energy market.
Companies that voluntarily commit to the Fairness Catalogue are listed on the BWB website.
Among other things, participating companies commit to presenting their products and prices in a clear and understandable manner, treating all customers without discrimination and acting in a way that promotes competition. In doing so, they consciously go beyond the minimum legal requirements and help strengthen trust in a fair and properly functioning energy market.
The Fairness Catalogue was developed by the BWB and E-Control based on the findings of the Energy Task Force. It contains eight practical principles of conduct governing the relationship between electricity and gas suppliers and consumers and small businesses. The final report found that while the energy crisis posed challenges for the market, it also exposed weaknesses in transparency, comparability and communication with consumers. In particular, the wide range of tariffs, short-notice price changes and contractual terms that were difficult to understand made it harder for many customers to compare offers and make informed decisions. The Fairness Catalogue addresses these findings.

The Fairness Catalogue is available on the websites of the Austrian Federal Competition Authority and E-Control. Electricity and gas suppliers may voluntarily commit to its principles at any time. Participating companies are subsequently listed on the websites of the BWB and E-Control.
