For the tenth consecutive time, the BWB has opened its doors for the annual Antitrust Law Moot Court on June 7, 2024. The legal competition, jointly organized with ELSA Austria (European Law Students' Association) and the law firm DORDA Rechtsanwälte GmbH, is celebrating its first major anniversary this year and is delighted with the continuing interest shown by students!

The AFCA congratulates Best Speaker Magdalena Bergthaler (Team University of Salzburg, mentored by Peter Thyri) and Best Team, University of Vienna/ Vienna University of Economics and Business, mentored by Wolf Theiss (Lisa Hager, Lena Doblinger, both from Vienna University of Economics and Business) for their outstanding achievements.

The presence of our special guest Konrad Ost, Vice-President of the Bundeskartellamt was an honor for the AFCA.

"The Cartel Law Moot Court was launched exactly ten years ago. I am delighted that it has become a fixture for the BWB, as well as for the supporting law firms and students, who are interested in antitrust law. Special thanks go to my team and the co-organizers for the successful planning and implementation of the event as well as to the jury for their expert assessment of the negotiations. I would also like to thank the Vice-President of the Bundeskartellamt, Konrad Ost, for being able to attend today,” explains Natalie Harsdorf.

"The Bundeskartellamt and BWB have been working together for a long time. We benefit from each other and competition protection benefits as a result. I am delighted to be present at today's BWB Moot Court. Antitrust law always stands in the context of the current economy and politics. By keeping markets open, we protect the business models of tomorrow and ultimately the consumers,” said Konrad Ost, Vice President of the Bundeskartellamt.
