Mathias Brunner was appointed to both the technical subcommittee on macro-economic statistics and the technical subcommittee on business and international trade in goods statistics. Loulou Kenens was appointed to the technical subcommittee on macro-economic statistics in the capacity of deputy member. Johannes Lukas was appointed to the technical subcommittee on business and international trade in goods statistics in the capacity of deputy member.
Mathias Brunner, MSc has worked as an economist at the AFCA since 2018 and has practical experience of working in the sector and teaching at university level. Mathias Brunner has been Deputy Head of the Staff Unit since 2022. Before joining the AFCA, and after graduating in economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien), he was employed at the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs in the Department for Export Control and Investment Policy.
Loulou Kenens, MSc has worked at the AFCA as economist since August 2023. Before completing her Master’s Degree in economics at the WU Wien, she worked as an intern at the AFCA, gaining valuable experience in economic case analysis and conducting sector inquiries from an early stage in her career.
Johannes Lukas, MSc has worked as an economist and Specialist Coordinator for Economic Case Analysis in AFCA’s Case Division A since November 2021. He was previously employed as a Teaching and Research Associate at the Department of Economics, Johannes Kepler University Linz. He still lectures there now, having taken the lead on one of the university’s courses. He graduated with a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Graz.

The technical subcommittees of Statistics Austria are tasked with advising Federal Ministries, Federal Statistics bodies and the Federal Institute of Statistics Austria on technical matters regarding federal statistics. The committees are made up of representatives of the relevant authorities and experts with practical experience in the relevant fields.
