Natalie Harsdorf appointed as new Deputy Director General and Managing Director of AFCA

Natalie Harsdorf, who has held the position of Managing Director on an interim basis for the past 13 months, has emerged as the best possible candidate to fill the vacancy permanently.

Appointment as AFCA Deputy Director General and Managing Director

Federal Minister for Digital and Economic Affairs (BMDW), Margarete Schramböck, therefore appointed Natalie Harsdorf as new AFCA Deputy Director General and Managing Director on 1 May 2021.

Ausbildung und Berufserfahrung

Natalie Harsdorf hat ihr Magister- und Doktoratstudium an der Universität Wien absolviert und hält einen Master of Laws (LL.M.) des College d’Europe in Brügge. Sie ist seit 2009 als Referentin in der BWB tätig und wurde mit kartellrechtlichen Ermittlungsverfahren, Verfahrensführung vor den österreichischen und europäischen Gerichten und internationaler Kooperation betraut. Seit Jänner 2014 war sie stellvertretende Leiterin der Geschäftsstelle und seit August 2017 zudem auch Leiterin der Rechtsabteilung.

Natalie Harsdorf ist Vortragende und Autorin zahlreicher Publikationen zu Themen des Kartellrechts. Weitere berufliche Stationen umfassten unter anderem Tätigkeiten im Kabinett von Richter Josef Azizi am Gericht der Europäischen Union und am Institut für Europarecht in Wien.
