Cartel Law Moot Court 2018 of the BWB

The University of Linz wins the 4th Cartel Law Moot Court, Second Best Team: WU Vienna 1.

Best Speaker is Raphaela Virgolini (Team WU Vienna 2), Second Best Speaker: Mario Gasselsdorfer (Team Linz).

The Cartel Law Moot Court, which took place on 24th May 2018, was organized again by the Austrian Federal Competition Authority together with the law firm DORDA and the European Law Students Association (ELSA). Numerous students applied to participate in the competition.

Infront of a fictitious Cartel Court the Students had to demonstrate their ability to present a profound legal and fact analysis and rhetoric. This year’s case concerned a selective distribution system for tablets. The respective distribution agreements include a rebate scheme and an online plattform through which the producer collects sales information, which is then used by an algorithm to calculate individual recommended resale prices for each retailer.
