BWB ensures independent competitors and private participation in rail freight

BWB gives green light for the merger of Graz-Köflacher Bahn und Busbetrieb GmbH ("GKB") and LTE Logistik- und Transport-GmbH ("LTE")after remedies

GKB intended to increase its participation in LTE by 50%. The owner of the GKB and the ÖBB is the BMVIT (Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology).

BWB ensured competition with the following remedies: 

  • coordination with ÖBB will not take place and 
  • participation in LTE by GKB is temporally limited.

Because of these remedies independency of LTE in rail freight could be safed.
