AFCA filed an application to impose a fine for vertical agreements on resale prices in the automatic pool cleaner market

On 2 April 2020 the Austrian Federal Competition Authority (AFCA) filed an application with the Cartel Court to fine a company for infringement of Article 101 TFEU and § 1 para. 1 of the Austrian Cartel Act (KartG). The infringement concerns the vertical price fixing of resale prices in relation to “automatic pool cleaning equipment”. The company has acknowledged the infringement.

In September 2019 the AFCA carried out dawn raids in France together with the French competition authority in the context of a request for official assistance.

Back in 2014 the AFCA conducted a cartel case relating to the pool cleaning equipment market.
