On 29.01.2019 the Austrian Federal Competition Authority was notified of the following merger:

Planned purchase process

Boston Scientific Corporation (United States) intends to acquire all of the issued and issued shares and, as such, sole control of BTG plc (United Kingdom). The proposed merger concerns products for minimally invasive medical procedures.

Industry sector: C - Verarbeitendes Gewerbe/Herstellung von Waren

Deadline for bringing in an application pursuant to § 11(1) Cartel Act will end on 26.02.2019.

Entrepreneurs whose legal or economic interests are affected by the merger can bring in a written statement at the Federal Competition Authority or the Federal Cartel Prosecutor within 14 days from publication date.

Note: The intervening party has no right to a certain treatment of the statement and will not gain a party position.

Extension of the deadline: On 22.02.2019, sent on 22.02.2019, the applicant requested the extension of the deadline for the submission of an examination request by two weeks in accordance with § 11 (1a) KartG. With the application submitted in due time, the deadline for the submission of an examination application by the authorities will be extended by two weeks, so it ends on 12.03.2019.

Withdrawal: The applicant withdrew the merger application on 08.03.2019.
