Invitation to the International Conference on Resale Price Maintenance

On <ST1:DATE Year="2008" Day="12" Month="9">September 12th, 2008</ST1:DATE>, the Austrian Federal Competition Authority will host an International Conference on Resale Price Maintenance, a one day conference in <ST1:CITY><ST1:PLACE>Vienna</ST1:PLACE></ST1:CITY> bringing together practitioners from regulatory authorities and from private practice as well as academics. In the light of recent developments in the <ST1:COUNTRY-REGION><ST1:PLACE>US</ST1:PLACE></ST1:COUNTRY-REGION> and the forthcoming revision of the EC Block Exemption on Vertical Agreements, the conference will offer a great opportunity to exchange views and to learn about the developments in <ST1:PLACE>Europe</ST1:PLACE> and the <ST1:COUNTRY-REGION><ST1:PLACE>US</ST1:PLACE></ST1:COUNTRY-REGION>.

We are delighted to announce that Commissioner William Kovacic, Chairman of the US Federal Trade Commission, and Bernhard Heitzer, President of the Bundeskartellamt, accepted our invitation as keynote speakers. Furthermore, amongst others, Anne Perrot, Vice-President of the Conseil de la Concurrence, Amelia Fletcher, Chief Economist of the Office of Fair Trading, Andreas Reindl, Executive Director for the Competition Law Institute of Fordham University, David Anderson, partner at Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP, and Luc Gyselen, partner at Arnold & Porter LLP, will contribute to a fruitful discussion.
